What to practice before our next lesson on 10/24/18

  1. Continue working on Jamaican Spice. Work on measures 12-19. And then add 21-32.
  2. Listen to a recording of Jamaican Spice here: Jamaican Spice
  3. Listen to Simple Hoedown here:  SIMPLE HOEDOWN
  4. Aeolian Rock practice: try the double stops (violins only) at measure 17 and learn the notes from measure 17-25.

What to practice before our next lesson on 10/3/18:

  1. I will hear you play all the notes on the “Basic Notes for Violin/Viola/Cello” sheet next week. Make sure it sounds like “Do, Re, Mi, Fa” on each string.
  2. Use your finger chart of basic notes I handed out at our first lesson to learn the notes of “Jamaican Spice” up to measure number 12. Listen to a recording of Jamaican Spice here: Jamaican Spice
  3. Review “Bile ’em Cabbage” and “Can Can” from the book
  4. Learn a tune one or two pages beyond where you stopped in the book last year.

What to practice before our next lesson on 9/26/18:
